3-Day Itinerary in Basse-Terre: Volcano, Waterfalls and Rainforest
Basse-Terre is home to most of Guadeloupe's spectacular nature. Three days are enough to discover its main sites by car, at a relaxed pace, without having to plan around a longer stay.
Day 1 and 2: National Park, Volcano and Waterfalls
The Guadeloupe National Park, La Soufrière volcano, the tropical rainforest and the area's many waterfalls naturally fill the first two days. Basse-Terre, the island's prefecture, serves as a central base, with winding roads that are easier to handle with a light, nimble city car.
Day 3: Deshaies and the North Coast
The third day can be spent in Deshaies, known for its botanical garden and as a filming location for Death in Paradise, as well as Bouillante, known for its hot springs and diving spots. Moov Location recommends an economy city car, well suited to these coastal and mountain roads.
